About Lolita Carrico
Long before the word “mompreneur” entered our lexicon, Lolita Carrico was already blazing trails as a true media pioneer as founder of Modern Mom Inc., one of the first major online presences for mothers. With the success of both ModernMom.com and the GLOSS Network (myGLOSS.com), Lolita has established herself as one of the industry’s top marketers and influencers.
Prior to launching successful media properties, Lolita established a solid career as a PR and marketing pro with over 20 years in the technology and digital media industries. Lolita has always been intrigued by technology and its influence on behavior and on the way we communicate and gather information. Working to launch some of the first well-known brands and technologies online, such as Shopzilla and Launch.com as well as the digital arms of major entertainment brands such as Bravo TV and AMC Networks, Lolita established herself as a leading marketer for the industry. She now consults with a variety of start-ups and established brands — creating and executing effective marketing communications and brand/product development strategies. Lolita’s current clients include a number of venture-backed technology companies, educational iPad/tablet application developers, mobile and social media shopping applications, and digital media properties.

August 2001: Jaden is born in Los Angeles
After having her son, Jaden in early 2001, Lolita was unimpressed by the tiny pool of mom sites and resources available online. Combining her professional background and expertise with her personal experiences as a mother, Lolita created Modern Mom Inc.
After eight years, Lolita sold Modern Mom in 2009 to launch the GLOSS Network for Women, an online destination offering content and community covering motherhood, fashion, beauty, fitness, cooking, technology, pop culture, and more. Within only a few months since its inception, GLOSS had been featured by media outlets like Entrepreneur.com, and saw remarkable growth until sold in 2012.
A recognized voice for moms in the industry, Lolita also served as a spokesperson and consultant for many companies including Procter & Gamble’s Bounty, Febreze and Swiffer brands, Baskin-Robbins, Got Milk, Fresh & Easy Markets, and others. She is a member of Nielsen’s Power Mom Advisory Council, and penned a regular column for Marketing Daily’s Engage: Moms series.
Lolita has been featured as an expert on hundreds of media outlets like Redbook, Parents, The Washington Post, ABC News and FOX News, discussing topics such as parenting, relationships, career, and balancing it all.
